     Eligibility:

You are eligible to apply if you:

  1. - Love your community and aim to make a difference as a leader on campus and at home.
  2. - Will graduate from high school in 2024 or graduated in 2023 or 2022.
  3. - Are not currently enrolled at a four-year college (students at two-year colleges may apply).
  4. - Live in one of the four Act Six program sites.
  5. - Want to attend at least one of the Act Six partner colleges in your program site.

While ethnicity and family income are considered, there are no income restrictions, and students from all backgrounds are encouraged to apply. There's no minimum GPA requirement, and admissions standards vary across our partner colleges.

    Application Process for 2023-24:

We've streamlined the application process through our partnership with Common App. Here's a summary:

- Complete the Common App by the November 28 deadline.click here to visit the official website 

- Your counselor must submit a Common App high school report and transcript by November 28.

- Phase II involves submitting additional information, a video, an extra essay, and financial details by December 11.

SAT/ACT scores are optional for Act Six selection, though some colleges may still require them in specific circumstances.

    How to Apply for Act Six:

Follow these steps to apply:

1. Complete the Act Six Interest form. If eligible, we'll email you a link to add Act Six to your Common App.

2. Use the personalized link to create a Common App account and add Act Six to your “My Colleges” list.

3. Send invitations to your school counselor, teacher, and community recommenders from the Common App.

4. Submit your Common App to Act Six by the November 28 deadline.

5. Ensure your counselor submits the Common App high school report and transcript by November 28.

6. If selected for Phase II, submit additional information and recommendations by December 11.

    Selection Criteria:

Act Six seeks diverse, multicultural leaders committed to anti-racism, justice, and equity. We consider factors like teamwork, critical thinking, communication skills, and academic potential. Selection committees evaluate applicants based on the following questions:

- How will the student contribute to the diversity of an Act Six cadre?

- To what extent is the student prepared for academic success?

- Will the selected college be a good fit?

- Is the student committed to service and leadership?

- How will the student foster intercultural communication and social change?

- Does the student see purpose in participating in Act Six?

- Will attending align with the student’s goals and vision?

- How resilient is the student to challenges, and what's their character strength?
