Scholarship Details:
KAAD is the scholarship institution of the German Catholic Church for post-graduate students and scientists from developing countries in Africa, Asia, Latin America, the Near and Middle East, as well as Eastern and Southeastern Europe.
KAAD expects the following from prospective candidates:
- Above-average performance in studies and research
- Orientation of studies or research towards permanent reintegration in the home region
- Religious and social commitment, and willingness to engage in inter-religious dialogue.
KAAD supports scholars through scholarships, educational programs, and offers spiritual and personal assistance, considering the future roles students will have in their home countries.
Scholarship Requirements:
To be eligible for the KAAD International Scholarship, applicants must:
- Come from a developing or emerging country in Africa, Asia, the Middle East, or Latin America and currently live there
- Have a university degree and professional experience from the home country
- Want to acquire a master’s degree or a Ph.D. at a German university or conduct post-doctoral research at a German university
- Be a Catholic Christian (or belong to a Christian denomination, other religions considered in exceptional cases)
- Possess German language skills before starting studies (KAAD can provide a language course of up to 6 months in Germany).
